Be ready to explain: why did you choose IAS?

Knowing your profession is one part of the journey. Explaining your skills to an employer, understanding vacancy requirements and organising life in a new country take preparation too. IAS brings these tasks into a structured support plan.

Communicate your skills

Practise work-related German, professional introductions and the language of your target role.

Improve your applications

Analyse vacancies, refine your CV and rehearse interviews using your own evidence.

Understand the workplace

Develop occupational vocabulary, communication habits and practical orientation.

Organise your next steps

Review feedback, plan appointments and navigate practical preparation alongside your search.

Your reason for choosing IAS should be personal

Identify a genuine preparation need. Explain which agreed IAS activity addresses it and how you will use that support. The study modules help you build that answer with your own facts.

Be ready to explain: why Germany for your career?

Explore opportunities that fit your qualification and experience. Fields to explore include technical work, construction, healthcare, hospitality, logistics and commercial roles. Availability and entry requirements vary by occupation, location and employer.

Research actual vacancies, compare the skills requested and consider the practical demands of living and working in Germany. A promising sector is a reason to investigate—not confirmation of a job offer.

Prepare in five steps

  1. Understand GCC and IAS. Know what the programme provides and how it relates to the Opportunity Card.
  2. Connect the opportunity to your profile. Research roles, requirements and the preparation you need.
  3. Know your evidence and arrangements. Review qualifications, programme terms, funding and practical plans.
  4. Practise explaining your plan. Use the reflection prompts and answer follow-up questions honestly.
  5. Check and revise. Take 20 questions, review the feedback and revisit the relevant study modules.

Based on the GCC brochure and current IAS programme documents. Your individual admission and AAF determine agreed services. This is preparation, not a visa eligibility decision.
